A rare, period giltwood and crystal chandelier composed of three fluted giltwood rings, the large center ring supporting carved, gilded and painted candle holders with gilded tole cups, the bobeches painted with a lotus flower design. The petite, hand carved crystals, of oval and lozenge form, are accented with gilded carved spheres, ovoids and pillowed stars. The shaped, finely wrought chains which support the chandelier are also gilded. France.
